Supporting Implementation of Maritime Spatial Planning in the Celtic Seas (SIMCelt) is a two-year, €1.8 million project co-financed by DG Mare and focused on promoting the development of transnational cooperation to support the implementation of EU Directive 2014/89/EU in the Celtic Seas. Led by University College Cork, the project consortium comprises both planners and researchers from 7 partner public institutes from Ireland, France and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

SIMCelt focused on a number of activities that reflect and respond to perceived needs as set out in the call for proposals, and also identified by the current priorities of the MSP authorities whose remit impacts in the Celtic Seas, including national and devolved administrations.
