  • Harmonised WFS Download service. Total photovoltaic panels installed in the domestic sector per 1,000 residents in each locality up till 2014. Data was collected from the Malta Resources Authority (MRA).Photovoltaic (PV) system is a complete set of components for converting solar radiation into electricity by the photovoltaic process, including the array/s of photovoltaic modules that collect and absorb sunlight for conversion into electricity, inverter/s and associated balance of system components.

  • Harmonised WFS Download service. The Seveso Directive obliges Member States to ensure that operators have a policy in place to prevent major accidents. Operators handling dangerous substances above certain thresholds must regularly inform the public likely to be affected by an accident, providing safety reports, a safety management system and an internal emergency plan. Twelve COMAH establishments have been identified in Malta, eight of which are upper tier sites. The establishments are all designated as COMAH sites due to the type and quantity of fuels stored at the facilities.

  • Harmonised WFS Download service. The Common Database on Designated Areas (CDDA) is more commonly known as Nationally designated areas, and is one of the agreed Eionet priority data flows maintained by EEA with support from the European Topic Centre on Biological Diversity. It is a result of an annual data flow through Eionet countries. In fact, Malta, being a member of the EEA, submits this report on an annual basis to fulfill this requirement. The EEA publishes the data set and makes it available to the World Database of Protected Areas (WDPA). The CDDA data can also be queried online in the European Nature Information System (EUNIS).

Access does not refer to whether or not connections can be provided in the area or street but to whether a particular person could use the internet from home, business (via portable devices) etc. The data set refers to the year 2011.

  • Harmonised WFS Download service for The submission of sites to the EC entails the preparation of a datasheet and a map for each site, that is for each proposed SCI and for each SPA, unless a proposed SCI has the exact boundary as an SPA; in the latter case only one datasheet is prepared comprising all relevant information. Reference can be made to the Natura 2000 viewer - including datasheets (link: http://natura2000.eea.europa.eu/) and to the Natura 2000 database (link: http://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/natura-2000/) to obtain information on each Natura 2000 site for almost all of the EU Member States. Information for the sites nominated by Malta are also available through these same links.

The Geographical Sub-Areas (GSAs) were established under the RES-GFCM/33/2009/2 - Establishment of Geographical Sub-Areas in the GFCM area amending the resolution GFCM/31/2007/2. The dataset only shows the GSA15 which is the GSA in which the Maltese Islands are found.
