Description: Spatial distribution of selected macrozoobenthic species in the German Bight. Data source: Data from environmental impact assessments (EIA) under the permit procedures of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) in the North Sea EEZ and research data of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research; time period: 1997 to 2011, mainly spring and autumn data (EIA data), but also summer and winter data (AWI data) Sampling standards: Data of EIAs follow the standard investigation concept StUK 1-3 (BSH 2007), AWI data collected in accordance with the ICES sampling standard (Rumohr 1999). Sampling gears: mainly van Veen grabs (0.1 m², 30-95 kg), few stations by box corer (0.1 m², 160 kg), Nephrops norvegicus and Goneplax rhomboides sampled by beam trawl and dredge (1-3 m width) Sampling: 1-3 replicates per station, fixation in 4 % buffered formalin seawater solution, dredge and beam-trawl data recorded on board or subsamples frozen stored, abundance and biomass (g wet weight) per species Data analysis: science information system of benthic invertebrate data, examination of quality and plausibility, data harmonisation, product computation by AWI Product description: Grid: 5x5 km² for grab data, 10x10 km² for data on N. norvegicus and G. rhomboides from beam trawl and dredge hauls; available selectable parameter: number of stations, minimum, maximum, mean, median and standard deviation of density (m-²) per species; classification method: natural jenks (Jenks Caspall algorithm), Note: The products contain a different classification of species density! Note: Please regard different value ranges! Rumohr, H. (1999). "Soft bottom macrofauna: Collection, treatment, and quality assurance of samples." ICES Techniques in Environmental Sciences, No. 27: 1-19. BSH (2007): Standard ¿Investigation of the Impacts of Offshore Wind Turbines on the Marine Environment (StUK 3)¿, Hamburg.

Various paramters for analysing morphodynamics in the German Bight on the basis of a 32 years time series aof interpolated bathymatries (yeasr 1982 - 2012). The data were generated within the framework of the German Coastal Engineering Research Council project AufMod (¿Aufbau integrierter Modellsysteme zur Analyse der langfristigen Morphodynamik in der Deutschen Bucht¿ [¿Development of integrated model systems for the analysis of long-term morphodynamics in the German Bight¿], 01.11.2009-31.12.2012). - "Morphological Alteration": differences in depth between two annual topographies for different periods (1, 5, 10, 30 years periods). - "Morphological Space": maximum difference in height at each model grid point (Zmax-Zmin) for different periods (1, 5, 10, 30 years) - "Morphological Drive": Difference between the maximum and the minimum annual rate of change in the period under consideration ((dz/a)max-( dz/a)min); 1, 5, 10, 30 years). With this parameter, it is possible to make a declaration as to whether a morphological alteration constantly takes place throughout the period under consideration or extreme results have occurred - "Count Of Datasets": amount of field campaigns present in the respective period under consideration - "Considerd Period": Time interval which is actually covered with data within the period under consideration [decimal years]

The data cover 12 to 36 hours predictions as result of the BSH circulation model. resolution about 1 nautical mile (E-W 100'', N-S 60'') on a spharical grid. 3D-parameters (except wind, waterlevel and ice) have been computed for vertical levels with lower limits (meter) of 8, 16, 24, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 1000.

Of the 300,000 t of chemical munitions manufactured in Germany up to 1945, about 40,000 t were dumped in the Baltic Sea by order of the Allies. The IMS (Internet Map Service) indicates the locations of dumped warfare agents and shows the transport routes (former save water way) to the dumping areas. Numerous witnesses reported that chemical munitions where already dumped while ships where en route. The information in this IMS is based on a report by a Federal/Länder Government Working Group "Chemical Munitions in the Baltic Sea" published by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency in 1993. The report is out of print.

The Map Service for Gravel and Hard Rock Aggregate Database at NGU contains information on most sand, gravel and hard rock aggregate deposits and extraction places in Norway where the raw material are used for building and construction activities. In addition, the WMS/database gives an overview of stone tips. The database also provides information on land use, volume, operating conditions, manufacturers, quality and how important resources are as raw material to building engineering purposes.

The service contains the published status of the spatial stipulations of the site development plan as an additional source of information. The planning scale of the plan is 1:400,000. The published documents are authoritative. Further information is available at https://gdiwiki.bsh.de/wiki/index.php/Fl%C3%A4chenentwicklungsplan (only German)

The service presents a map overview of models in EGDI3D Geological Model Database. From each mapped area, a link is provided to a preview of the model.
