National Forest Estate Recreation Areas GB
A recreation area feature which is managed and has a physical boundary (e.g. a car park, play area or building). There are a number of Asset Types.....
Vehicle - Purpose built and installed FC asset, or regularly used natural feature, which has management activity and investment (e.g. Car park, layby, woodland bays).
Visitor area - Purpose built and installed FC asset, which has management activity and investment (e.g. BBQ area, picnic, education, events, arboretum).
Sports - Purpose built and installed FC asset (or sub-let), which has management activity and investment (e.g. Archery, bike park, ropes course, GoApe, climbing).
Building - Purpose built and installed FC asset, which has management activity and investment. Visitor centre, toilet, cycle hire, catering, shelter, retail outlet.
Play - FC area designated for play activities, which has management activity and investment (Deb building, play area, paddling).
Accommodation - Purpose built and installed FC asset, which has management activity and investment (e.g. Camp site, cabin site, caravan site, wild camp area).
Ponds/Lakes - Natural or man-made feature, which has management activity and investment (Natural, fishing, model boats, duck flighting).
Concert - FC area designated for concert activities, which has management activity and investment (Stage, backstage, viewing area).
Additionally these asset types are expanded on using a range of Asset Subtypes....

- The FC's Forester Recreation extension was rolled out to Forest Districts (FDs) in 2010. Since then FDs have been using this to record new recreation features, and those previously stored locally, to a common standard across GB.
