PHYSIC - Project Sheet
The objective of the PHYSIC project was to develop hydrosedimentary modeling in areas of strong currents through measurement campaigns.
PHYSIC made it possible to establish recommendations for the deployment of equipment for the acquisition of field data in areas of strong currents. Databases dealing with sediment transport in the Raz Blanchard have also been set up. They represent valuable tools for those involved in the tidal stream industry.

- Statement
-
The main achievements of the ABIOP project were:
• Definition of the data acquisition strategy including the choice of measuring instruments and the design of their supports.
• In-situ measurement campaign in the Alderney Race and recovery of the deployed instrumentation.
• Development of a regional hydrosedimentary model of the Alderney Race covering the real conditions of the area and based on in-situ observations as well as micro-scale simulations.
Partners of the project: France Energies Marines, SHOM, Université de Caen, Naval Energies, Université de Bretagne Occidentale, IMT Atlantique, ENSTA Bretagne, Energies de la Lune and IXSurvey.
Funding: French National Research Agency under the Investment for the Future Programme (ANR-10-IEED-0006-10).
