Interannual Variability Index Standard Deviation (%) Maldives 2km 2004-2014 WBG

An interannual variability index (IAVI) of wind speed and energy was dervied from the WMS 10-year simulations. Care should be taken when using these data, as a robust estimate requires at least 30 years of reliable reference data. The data were created by DNV-GL.The map is an un-validated, satellite-derived estimate. As part of phase II of the WBG initiative, these maps will be validated through the use of ground measurement data, and until the data collection period is finished should be considered for policy use, rather than energy prospecting, following IRENA's classification of renewable energy data.
