Groundwater Vulnerability to Pollution A index map (Aquifer media) in Catalonia according to DRASTIC
Type of aquifer media distribution map expressed as an index value according to DRASTIC ranges from 1 to 10. The highest values correspond mainly to unconsolidated detrital and karstified aquifers. The lowest values correspond to loam formations and other low permeability geological units.

- Statement
- The aquifer media map has been created in collaboration with the Catalan Water Agency (ACA). Based on the Hydrogeological Areas of Catalunya map at 1:250.000 (ICGC, 2016) an exhaustive analysis according to the structure, lithology, consolidation, and porosity of the aquifers has been done. After this assessment, the "A" index values have been assigned for each aquifer, according to DRASTIC ranges.
