Heat Demand - Settlement
The heat demand is an amalgamation of a number of different spatial datasets that have associated heat demand values. The map has been developed on the principle of applying data with increasing levels of certainty and overlaying and replacing individual property heat demand values.
The Settlement heat demand layer is made up of settlement boundaries (2012) from National Records of Scotland (NRS) combined with each settlements average heat demand.

- Statement
- Heat demand values are associated with every property in Scotland that has a UPRN and this is based on an estimate of heat demand or actual energy billing data, where this is available. This results in a final map that is based on a heat demand value assigned to every property in Scotland. The data is based on overlaying data derived from: 3.2M addresses, 2.9M Scottish Assessor records, 0.8M Energy Performance Certificates and over 20,000 public sector properties with actual energy billing data.
