Monitoring Points of Bathing Waters Identified in RAM

This Geographic DataSet represents the location where the water samples are collected for monitoring the Bathing Waters Identified in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.Bathing waters are identified annually by DROTA - Direcção Regional do Ordenamento do Território e Ambiente, in accordance with Decree-Law No. 135/2009, of June 3, amended and republished by Decree-Law 113/2012 of 23 May, which establishes the legal system for the identification, management, monitoring and classification of bathing water quality and provision of information to the public about them (Directive 2006/7 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 February )The annual procedure for the identification of bathing waters, begins with the preparation of a proposal to identify bathing waters, in cooperation with local authorities. The proposal is submitted to public consultation between January 2 and February 2. After this period identification is approved by ordinance by Government member responsible for the environment, until 1 March of each year..

Purpose

Os Perfis das Águas Balneares (Decreto-Lei n.º 135/2009, de 3 de Junho – Diretiva n.º 2006/7/CE do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho de 15 de Fevereiro) elaborados pela DROTA, consistem numa ferramenta de gestão das águas balneares da Região que tem como objetivo atuar de imediato em situações de poluição, promovendo a proteção do ambiente, da saúde pública e dos banhistas.

As águas balneares são identificadas anualmente pela Direcção Regional do Ordenamento do Território e Ambiente - DROTA, nos termos do Decreto-Lei n.º 135/2009, de 3 de Junho, alterado e republicado pelo Decreto-Lei 113/2012, de 23 de Maio, que estabelece o regime jurídico de identificação, gestão, monitorização e classificação da qualidade das águas balneares e de prestação de informação ao público sobre as mesmas (Diretiva n.º 2006/7/CE do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho de 15 de Fevereiro)O procedimento de identificação anual das águas balneares, inicia-se com a elaboração de uma proposta de identificação de águas balneares, em colaboração com as autarquias locais. A proposta é submetida a consulta pública entre 2 de Janeiro e 2 de Fevereiro. Findo este período a identificação é aprovada por portaria do membro do governo responsável pela área do ambiente, até 1 de Março de cada ano.
