Perfis da Praia de S. Pedro do Estoril - Cascais

Two beach profiles (P2 and P3) were collected at S. Pedro do Estoril, Cascais (Portugal) as part of shoreline monitoring exercises. Survey was conducted in a situation of low tide and these beach profiles run perpendicular to the shoreline.

Statement

2007: These beach profiles were taken using a total station (Zeiss). The x, y data are provided from a local benchmark (in beach promenade) to a limit between the mean sea level and hydrographic zero, HZ. Elevations were taken with reference to the mean sea level (measured in Cascais). The unit is meter from Portuguese Military System.

Survey points depended on the variations of profile and their lecture with the station was focus at sites where these variations were bigger.


July 2010: Data was checked for mistakes by plotting over a known reference and a systematic error 100000 meters in the x coordinate, detected and corrected.
