Purpose

A gestão de resíduos urbanos (RU) em Portugal Continental é assegurada por 23 Sistemas de Gestão de Resíduos Urbanos (SGRU), 12 multimunicipais (11 integram a Empresa Geral do Fomento (EGF) e a BRAVAL) e 11 intermunicipais.

Com a publicação do PERSU 2020, estabeleceu-se a visão, os objetivos, as metas globais e as metas específicas por Sistema de Gestão de RU e as medidas a implementar no quadro de resíduos urbanos no período 2014 a 2020, bem como a estratégia que suporta a sua execução.

O PERSU 2020 abrange os resíduos urbanos cuja gestão é da responsabilidade dos sistemas de gestão de resíduos urbanos e contribui para o cumprimento das metas nacionais e comunitárias em matéria de resíduos urbanos.
